Fluid Athletics is a run-specific coaching and training platform developed by Daniel Moore. Fluid’s philosophy aims to prioritize simplicity over complexity and big improvements over quick ones. Using a fundamental understanding of endurance physiology, athletes will develop a sense of trust and direction in their training.
Daniel has competed near the top of the sport for over 10 years, winning team and individual state championships in High School and then earning a scholarship to run Track and Cross Country at Duke University. During his 4 years of collegiate running, he ran Personal Records of 14:20 for 5,000m and 31:15 for 10,000m. Since graduation, he has shifted focus from exclusively running to other endurance sports, mainly competing in triathlons. He has also run an 'independent' marathon completed in 2:35. Full training log available on Strava.
In addition to competitive experience, Daniel has years of experience in running gait analysis, both to optimize footwear selection and to improve form. Shoes, insoles, and gear are all pieces of the puzzle. Navigating this world is second nature. He has worked with athletes in the top 1% of the sport to walk/runners hoping to complete their first 5k.
Hey, it's Daniel. The question above is a fair one and to be honest, one that pops into my head a lot. The number of resources available for and about runners is endless, from training books to YouTubers to downloadable training plans.
I've been immersed in running since I discovered the sport. I gathered as much info as I could to find any advantage, training methodology, piece of gear, and tactic to make myself as fast as possible. And even though I'd gone very deep on running literature, it was a very narrow understanding.
In 2018, I signed up for my first triathlon on a whim. I gave myself about two days to get used to a borrowed bike and a new pair of goggles. It was a totally new sport that existed parallel to the one I'd committed my training and education towards. There was new gear, new techniques, and new training data. It all felt very foreign even though the concept was the same: get to the finish line, as fast as possible.
Looking back, the past four years have essentially been my running graduate school; a higher learning course in endurance sports. Now that I've been exposed to and immersed in the more technical and data-driven world of triathlon, I have a fresh perspective on running. Plus, I know how strange it feels to start a new sport as an adult. The lessons learned from multisport have broadened and deepened my love and knowledge of running. While doing some informal and unstructured coaching, I started to realize I now have something to offer.
There are plenty of good reasons to invest in yourself as a runner. Maybe you're totally new and don't know where to begin. Or you've been running for 30 years and need an altered approach to training. Sometimes you need a new stimulus that you don't know you're missing. And sometimes, you just need someone else to care about your silly little runs. Whatever the reason, I'd love to hear it. Please reach out through the contact form below.
Both tiers billed monthly. Discounts available for long term commitments. If cost is prohibitive, reach out directly to discuss.
